Irish Rail ordered to sell land to raise funds

IARNRÓD ÉIREANN has been ordered to sell off or develop land to raise funds for the upgrading of the railway network.

Unused Irish Rail land across the country could raise up to €100 million over five years, according to Transport Minister Séamus Brennan.

At the moment, just €500m a year is available for the development of the railway system.
