Home reception set for Corr wedding
The likely venue for the bash is the exclusive Four Season's hotel in Ballsbridge, a veritable celebrity magnet for visiting stars.
A source close to the couple said explained last night that the pair had planned the Irish party for those who couldn't make it to today's ceremony at the couple's sun-soaked hideout in Spain.
"They wanted to mark their marriage here in Ireland as well, so they thought it was best to hold a second reception in Dublin."
The couple, who opted for a modest ceremony in Spain to avoid the glare of the media spotlight, have planned to hold off on their honeymoon until after the weekend.
In a bid to avoid paparazzi and the prying eyes of fans, the pair checked out of their luxury Spanish hideout yesterday afternoon - the five-star La Residentia hotel where they had been staying for the last week.
Scuppering snappers, Caroline and Woods were transported, under heavy security, to a less high-profile hotel just a few miles away, where they are to hold an intimate reception after today's wedding.
The source confided that the celebrity couple were determined not to get involved in the usual Hello-style sell-out on their big day.
"They had decided on a small, intimate wedding and didn't want the kind of attention that Sharon (Corr) and Gavin got when they married here in Ireland. Their plan was to have a small, private ceremony and reception in Spain and then have another, bigger reception in Dublin when they got back."
Woods, whose brother, also a property developer, works in Majorca, was joined by family and just a few close friends who flew out for the today's wedding, while his famous bride-to-be was to be whisked to the church in the company of her father Gerry and celebrity siblings Andrea, Sharon and Jim.
Having recently broken up with his 22-year-old girlfriend, Jim will be the only Corr to attend today's event without a partner on his arm.
The guitarist player instead chose to invite his best friend, DJ Tony Fenton. It was also expected that the U2 frontman Bono, a close friend of the Corrs, would also attend the wedding.
