1,800 cases as winter vomiting bug shows no signs of abating
According to the latest information from the National Virus Reference Laboratory (NVRL) at UCD, more than 1,800 cases have been confirmed up to the end of October.
“Currently there is a widespread level of outbreak activity. We’re still seeing clusters around the country and we seem to be in a peak period at this moment. There is a lot of illness around in the community because of this,” said Dr Lelia Thornton of the National Disease Surveillance Centre (NDSC).
