Beaten man dumped on road

GARDAÍ and police in the North are investigating the circumstances surrounding the abduction and assault of a Belfast man who was dumped by a roadside near the Border.

The 40-year-old man was badly beaten and then dumped a few miles outside Monaghan town.

He was discovered at Raconnell at about 10.30pm on Sunday. He man was treated in Cavan General Hospital overnight and released yesterday evening.
