Haunted house leaves dispirited woman close to giving up the ghost

THERE’S a ghost in Pamela Quinn’s house, and she has a photo and a video clip to prove it!

Pamela has been living in Walkinstown Avenue in Dublin with her partner Michael Reilly and four young children for just over a year.

But they are not alone, Pamela says.

Pamela says she can strongly feel the icy presence of the spirit of an elderly woman who is not at all happy with them living there.

Neighbours have even recognised the image of the old woman bent over a stick that Pamela captured in a photograph about two weeks ago.

They believe she is Margaret O’Connor, a woman who reluctantly left the house to spend her last days in a nursing home about 10 years ago.

A camcorder with night vision used by a private detective, who also has an interest in ghosts, picked up swirls of colour in the living room, which they claim is evidence that a ghost is moving around the room.

“I am actually like a ghost myself now because I can’t sleep with the presence in the house. I think she appeared in the photograph to let me know she is still here and has no intention of leaving,” said Pamela.

Pamela was five months pregnant with her youngest child when she thought something was not right in the house.

“I came down to the kitchen after midnight one night. I had no blind on the window and felt something looking in on me and said: ‘You’re not getting in here, whoever you are’.”

Pamela went back upstairs but returned to the kitchen in the early hours of the morning. “I walked on a piece of glass and realised that the light bulb had shattered and was all over the floor. I knew I had annoyed someone then.”

Pamela, who told her story on the Gerry Ryan Show yesterday, said she gets ice cold sensations, especially on the stairs.

She said a psychic told her recently that the spirit, who was not able to rest, did not want her in the house.

Neighbours and friends who visited Pamela’s home yesterday recited prayers and a decade of the rosary in a bid to quieten the restless spirit.

“I have got this house blessed three times. Nothing has worked. She’s still here. She feels that this is her home,” Pamela said afterwards.

Pamela is considering having an exorcism.

“I am religious but I didn’t believe in ghosts until I came to this house. I thought people just imagined them.”

Pamela said her partner’s mother telephoned the Gerry Ryan Show about the ghost. “She knows that the house is haunted and that I am at the end of my tether.”
