Yes campaign won the day with money, says No alliance

THE spending power and weight of the Yes side was blamed by No campaigners as the deciding factor in the referendum.

Fears about marginalisation and the flight of investment and the notion applicant countries could not be accommodated without Nice were also capitalised upon, the No camp said.

The passing of the Nice Treaty was a further step towards a federalist Europe, Green Party leader Trevor Sargent said. "The Nice Treaty is a further step along the integrationist road," he said.
