Hospital care for the dying ‘must be improved’

FOUR out of five people believe that hospital care of the dying needs to be urgently improved, according to the first nationwide study of attitudes to death.

Two thirds of Irish people also want to die at home, according to early findings from the telephone survey of 1,000 people.

The Irish Hospice Foundation (IHF), which commissioned the survey, will give the results at a press conference next week.
