Cullen receives inaugural award

BILL CULLEN was a long, long way from penny apples when he received the Princess Grace Humanitarian Award for his enormous contribution and devotion to underprivileged children in Ireland.

Cullen receives inaugural award

The award was presented to Mr Cullen, owner and chairman of Renault Ireland, by Prince Albert during the Ireland Fund of Monaco gala dinner attended by over 200 guests at the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo on Saturday night.

Mr Cullen is the first recipient of the award that recognises the achievement of an Irish person, or a person of Irish descent, who has made an extraordinary contribution in the field of humanitarian activities. The award includes a specially commissioned work of art and a bursary of €25,000 for a charity of the winner’s choice.
