THE EU is losing popularity in many member states with a third saying they would be indifferent if it was scrapped.

However, Ireland is one of the union’s best supporters, with over a half of those asked saying they would be very sorry if the union was dissolved.

The findings are in the latest Eurobarometer poll, where the EU’s citizens were questioned about how they feel about the EU and its policies.
