THE fiasco surrounding Environment Minister Martin Cullen's attempts to introduce electronic voting for the June elections has not dented public confidence in the technology.

E-voting fiasco fails to switch off public confidence

The Irish Examiner/Questions & Answers opinion poll, conducted by Lansdowne Market Research, shows that half the respondents in the North West constituency would show some degree of confidence in the system if it was brought in for the next government elections.

The findings show that 25% of those polled would be very confident using electronic voting at an election, with a further 25% saying they would be fairly confident.
