MORE than one-third of the country’s farming, fishing and forestry workers are only educated to primary level.

The figures are included in the Central Statistics Office analysis of questions about education and qualifications in the 2002 Census.

It found that 34% of those working in the agriculture sector had not gone to second level school, while 27% of textile, clothing and leather workers had reached a similar level.
