HSE chief to reveal plans at FG conference

THE new chief executive of the Health Service Executive will next week give his first public indication of how he intends to run the service.

Professor Brendan Drumm will be the main guest speaker at Fine Gael’s two-day parliamentary party think-in in Portlaoise.

Since his appointment this summer, Prof Drumm has made no public announcements. But at the FG conference, and in a series of media interviews, he will next week outline how he intends to proceed with managing and reforming the health service and addressing problem areas such as the much-criticised accident and emergency service.
