MORE than a dozen people are disqualified from driving for having more than 12 penalty points.

The latest figures from the Department of Transport reveal that there are 15 motorists serving a six-month ban as a result of reaching the threshold.

They are among the 285,852 drivers who have been issued penalty points since they were introduced by the Government in November 2002.
