RATIONALISATION plans by An Post will lead to job losses in Limerick and a decline in the quality of the postal service in the Mid West, Michael Noonan, TD, the former Fine Gael leader warned yesterday.

Mr Noonan said: “Once again, Limerick is coming out very badly from a national decision endorsed by the Government.”

He said An Post in Limerick was withdrawing from all services apart from delivery. Sorting and the transfer of mail for Limerick will, from now on, be carried out in Cork.
