Cosgrave fails in bid to halt inquiry
The tribunal yesterday rejected an application by lawyers for the former Fine Gael TD that it should stop its five-year-old inquiry because it had not adequately protected Mr Cosgrave’s constitutional rights.
It is currently investigating allegations by the political lobbyist Frank Dunlop that Mr Cosgrave was one of nine councillors whom he bribed in return for support of a controversial rezoning at Carrickmines.
