IFA make appeal on dog attacks

THE IFA’s sheep committee chairman Laurence Fallon yesterday appealed to all dog owners to make sure their pet animals are under full control at all times.

He issued a warning following a number of attacks by marauding dogs on sheep flocks in recent weeks.

In the last two weeks, he said, there were dreadful cases of attacks in counties Louth, Offaly and Meath where ewes were killed, leaving flock owners facing substantial losses.
