Patients to be screened for drugs and alcohol abuse

The project aims to target those at risk of developing a substance abuse problem who may not otherwise access mainstream services.

Once a problem is identified, the patient is offered a “brief intervention” consultation with a nurse or doctor prior to their discharge.
