Gardaí fear drug lord link to pyramid schemes

GARDAÍ suspect pyramid schemes are being used by drug barons to launder money, and they also fear thousands of SSIA policy-holders are waiting in the wings lured by a promise to get rich quick.

This week alone in excess of €800,000 may have been unsafely invested at one Cork venue.

A number of garda sources said last night they're concerned crime lords are trying to cash in on a craze which is sweeping the country.
