The appointment of Al McHugh, currently Chief Superintendent in charge of Dublin’s north central division, has been approved by the Justice Minister.

Assistant Commissioner McHugh, a 55-year-old father of four from Co Mayo, has not yet been allocated a posting by the Garda Commissioner Noel Conroy.
