The slogan used by one stall-holder at the Toys 4 Big Boys Exhibition in the RDS yesterday proved as topical as it was controversial.
But the speed camera detectors on offer were selling like the proverbial hot gateaux among the grown-up, boy racers who flocked to the first day of the show.
Wayne Lyons of Armagh-based company Speed Camera Defence claimed he had taken dozens of orders for the radar detectors which range in price from €125 to €395. "The top range model can detect speed traps up to two miles away," said Wayne.
A garda spokesperson last night warned the use of such equipment was illegal and could be confiscated by gardaí. But this is unlikely to act as a deterrent as the sale, purchase and ownership of the device is not banned.
According to event organiser John McDonald the show hosts "every aspect of the ultimate male lifestyle".
"We work hard and therefore want to play hard. Toys 4 Big Boys aims to show men and women the choice that is available and the fantastic lifestyles that is at hand," said Mr McDonald.
The centrepiece of the exhibition was the LadsPad a luxury apartment fitted out with designer equipment, and technical and electrical wizardry, including a cheese cooler, hot tub and gym.
