BRYAN MEEHAN has been one of the biggest names on the Limerick musical scene for more than 30 years.

His big jazz band has entertained at most of the major gala balls and functions in the city.

He has also played a major role in the success of Limerick groups in the Tops of the Town competition.

Meehan has been musical director for a number of musicals staged by one of the oldest such societies in the county, The Cecilians, which was formed more than 80 years ago.

Originally from the Janesboro area of the city, he was one of the founder members of the Limerick Jazz Society.
