LABOUR leader Pat Rabbitte yesterday renewed his attack on the Government decision to take control of the €175m dormant accounts fund and called the move a blatant political gimmick by Fianna Fáil.

The decision had already been severely criticised by Labour and Fine Gael last week, with both parties accusing the Government of moving to create a political slush fund aimed at favoured Fianna Fáil projects.

During leaders’ questions in the Dáil, Mr Rabbitte accused the Government of a blatant political gimmick orchestrated for political gain.
