Apology - Kevin Carty, Assistant Commissioner, An Garda Síochána

In our editions of June 9 and June 10, 2005, we carried articles concerning the findings of the Morris Tribunal.

The said articles contained references to Assistant Commissioner Kevin Carty which were grossly inaccurate and constituted a gross misrepresentation of the findings of the tribunal.

We unreservedly accept that the Morris Tribunal was not critical of Assistant Commissioner Carty and indeed acknowledged that the inquiry conducted by him had been carried out in a thorough and professional manner.
