Harney warns leadership pretenders

TÁNAISTE Mary Harney last night warned any pretenders to her throne that she has no intention of stepping down as Progressive Democrats leader.

Killing off speculation that she was preparing to pave the way for a successor and amid reports that Michael

McDowell, Tom Parlon and others were preparing to battle it out for the party leadership, Ms Harney said she is far from ready to move on.
