Over-16s classification for films in new year

A NEW 16 certificate film classification will be introduced on January 1.

Film censor John Kelleher said the classifications would ensure parents were aware which films were suitable for children.

The existing 12PG and 15PG certificates will be re-designated 12A and 15A. Children of those ages and younger have to be accompanied by an adult.
