Brennan says random breath testing will be in by Christmas

RANDOM breath testing of drivers will be brought in by Christmas in a bid to stop the escalating carnage on our roads, Transport Minister Seamus Brennan pledged yesterday.

Drink is a huge part of the accidents that happened at 3am and 4am and something had to be done to reduce them Mr Brennan said.

The announcement followed a horrific weekend on the roads and the news yesterday of another person killed near Listowel.
