Jobs fears by Shannon workers

AER LINGUS was yesterday accused of air-brushing Shannon Airport from its future development plans.

Jobs fears by Shannon workers

The charge came yesterday from spokesman for SIGNAL, the Shannon workers’ lobby, Joe Buckley, who was speaking after 700 people attended a meeting in Shannon on Monday night where the Government’s and Aer Lingus’s record on Shannon came under sustained attack.

Arising from the meeting, a newly-established airport working group is to request a meeting with Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern; Tánaiste Mary Harney and Transport Minister Séamus Brennan.
