Alcohol cans and bottles may get health warning

HEALTH warnings could soon appear on cans and bottles alerting drinkers to the dangers of alcohol abuse, it emerged yesterday.

The Government is considering the introduction of compulsory warnings on alcohol products similar to those which appear on cigarette packets.

Advertising campaigns and promotions for alcoholic drinks which target young people are also under review.
