Thousands pay final respects to ‘warm, loving parents’

THOUSANDS of people paid their last respects yesterday to a couple described as “warm, loving and generous parents”, who were tragically killed by a hit and run driver while on holiday in Mallorca.

Matt and Margaret O’Sullivan’s coffins lay side by side in St Finbarr’s Church, Bantry, as Fr George O’Mahony told mourners their loss had left “a huge hole” in the hearts of their family and the greater community.

Pictures of them lay on each of their coffins. A picture of the couple together rested against the altar. Next to it lay wreaths simply saying ‘mum’ and ‘dad, placed there by their three children, Kieran, 24, Clare, 22 and Susan, 20.
