County council ‘not going after’ people burning garden waste

HELICOPTERS spying from the air or “nosey parker” neighbours need not worry people burning garden waste in Kerry.

A commonsense approach is being adopted by Kerry County Council, which will not be enforcing the Waste Management Act to the letter when it comes to burning green waste.

But if a nuisance is being caused by smoke from such fires, the council will be forced to act, a meeting was told in Killarney.
