Gardaí raid oil laundry

AN oil laundry facility capable of raking in hundreds of thousands of euro in profits was raided yesterday by customs officers, following a lengthy surveillance operation.

The facility had the capacity to produce 60,000 litres of diesel a year, representing a potential tax loss of €1.5 million.

Thirty thousand litres of oil and three trucks were seized in the raid, and an underground fuel tank was discovered.
