New driving offences unveiled

THE penalty points system for errant drivers was fortified yesterday with the introduction of 31 new offences.

Yesterday's increase by the authorities brings to 35 the number of offences that now attract penalties.

New offences include dangerous overtaking, breaking the lights and driving on the hard shoulder of a motorway.
