Greens aim to make Dublin the envy of Europe

The party’s comprehensive Green Vision for Dublin calls for a bold transformation of the city, and contains many eye-catching proposals including a national park in the Dublin mountains, a greatly expanded Luas and metro service, and a vast metropolitan library of international standing.

Among other proposals are a coastal walkway and cycleway extending 30 miles along the coast from Bray to Balbriggan; the redevelopment of College Green as a car-free public piazza; linear parks along the city’s three rivers, and directly elected mayors for each local authority in the city.
