Bush under fire

Labour’s sole MEP Proinsias de Rossa launched a blistering attack on George W Bush saying the US President had yet to learn that bigger bombs will not defeat terrorism.

“We must say loud and clear that the Irish Government should do nothing to help the Bush re-election campaign,” he said.

Labour’s other Dublin euro candidate, Ivana Bacik, criticised the Government for going to the top of a mountain to meet Bush but for not crossing the street to meet disability groups.
