THE average cost of a house in Dublin has trebled since the Government took office, Labour claimed yesterday.

North Dublin TD Sean Ryan said a couple living in the capital would have to earn €100,000 between them to get on the property ladder.

He said Dublin house prices had risen by nine times the rate of inflation and five times the increase in average earnings in the Government’s lifetime.
