Gardaí baffled as hoax bomb alerts target Cork sex shops

GARDAÍ are trying to trace the man responsible for a number of hoax bomb alerts aimed at the sex industry in Cork.

A senior garda source confirmed yesterday that a man rang a garda station in the city centre on Thursday afternoon and claimed that incendiary bombs had been planted in three sex shops in the city centre.

The man is also understood to have claimed that an incendiary device had been planted at another premises in the city, which he alleged was functioning as a brothel.
