Burglars target unoccupied homes

SEVEN houses were burgled in the Killarney area during the weekend, bringing to more than 50 the number of break-ins in the area since November, despite extra garda patrols.

Also, around €5,000 was taken from a safe at the JTL Tiles premises, Park Road, Killarney, on Friday night.

Gardaí believe six of the latest break-ins, which occurred between 10pm on Saturday and 4am yesterday, are the work of the same criminals.
