Juveniles get hooked on drugs at younger age

A REPORT on treating drugs abuse has found that juveniles are getting hooked at a younger age, and there’s an increase in the number of young women requiring help.

According to study set up by a Health Services Executive working group, there were 2,034 people under the age of 18 who needed treatment in the last decade in the Eastern Regional Area.

Over this period the proportion of young women increased, the proportion living with family fell and a small, but significant number, were homeless or living alone with young children.
