THE old faithful continue to dominate the airwaves as most of RTÉ’s top shows are gaining listeners.

The national broadcaster has recovered ground over the country’s 23 independent stations, enjoying a larger audience, the yearly JNLR/MRBI survey shows.

The station’s flagship show, Morning Ireland, tops the list with an audience of 526,000, up by almost 10%. Marian Finucane is second on 416,000, up 9%, while 2FM’s Gerry Ryan comes in third on 374,000, down 5%.
