Four men have been arrested following a Garda operation on the M50 in Dublin, as part of a probe into an organised burglary gang.
At around 10.30am on Thursday morning, gardaí stopped the vehicle following a "managed containment operation" and arrested three men in their 20s and one in his 40s, who are suspected of being members of an organised burglary gang.
The car they were stopped in, a silver2006 Volvo S40, is believed to have been used in a number of burglaries and similar incidents across the country.
Upon search, a number of housebreaking implements, gloves, and face coverings were seized. The car also bore false registration plates.
The four men were all arrested at the scene. They are currently being detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 at Garda stations in the Dublin Region.
Gardaí are appealing to any persons who may have seen this vehicle in their area.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Dublin Crime Response Team (DCRT) on 01 666 9896, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
"Investigations are ongoing," a Garda spokesperson said.
