Driver caught doing 124km/h in 50km/h zone over St Patrick's weekend

A driver was caught doing 124km/h in 50km/h zone in Co Monaghan as gardaí confirmed more than 2,600 people were detected for speeding offences over the St Patrick's bank holiday weekend.

Gardaí carried out a major roads policing operation from 7am on March 13 to 7am on March 18, and carried out 1,025 mandatory intoxicant testing (Mit).
