EU drivers face black or white choice to speed up new-car delivery

Carmakers in Europe are offering pared-down options for cars so customers can get a new car before the summer season ends.

Renault's "Fast track" offer on the Arkana, already being delivered in France, guarantees a new car in a maximum of 30 days - compared with an average wait of five months.

For Emilie Malherbe, choosing the colour of her brand new Renault Arkana SUV was easy because only three were available: black, pearl-white and gray.

She and her husband swiftly settled on gray because what mattered most was getting the car delivered quickly.
