Volkswagen van centre open in Cork

The company, which already operates two Volkswagen commercial vehicle sites, in Fermoy and Skibbereen, will bring new investment and jobs to the city.

The new van centre has an open-plan showroom and a further interior display area showcasing the entire Volkswagen commercial vehicle range, as well as a 50-vehicle forecourt for Vantage used commercial vehicles.

Denis Murphy and David Quirke, directors at Blackwater Motors Volkswagen, said: “Coupled with our existing sites, in Fermoy and Skibbereen, we believe we have Cork’s commercial vehicle needs completely covered. We can provide practical advice for business owners and fleet managers on all aspects of van ownership.”

Alan Bateson, director of Volkswagen commercial vehicles Ireland, added: “We are delighted to open Cork’s first, 100% dedicated commercial vehicle centre. Its opening is great news for customers who come here to do business, for the staff who work here in such a smart and professional environment, and, of course, the Volkswagen commercial vehicles brand. This showroom is a perfect showcase of what we are and what we do.”

Since the appointment of Blackwater Motors as Volkswagen’s car and commercial dealer for Cork City, in 2009, they have opened dealerships at Forge Hill, Turner’s Cross, Victoria Cross, and Skibbereen.
