Lotus Exige Cup 380 is stripped back
Based on the capable Exige 380, the Cup has a low weight of 1,057kg, achieved through the extensive use of carbon fibre plus the removal of non-essential parts — even the boot carpet has been taken away.
A range of aerodynamic components have been added to the Cup 380, ensuring high levels of cornering ability and high-speed stability.
It now features louvres over the front wheels designed to equalise the amount of pressure over them, while even the Exige’s windscreen wiper has been shaped to avoid disrupting air flow. In total, the Exige 380 can generate up to 200kg of downforce when travelling at its top speed of 175mph.
Inside, the Exige Cup 380 features carbon race seats and carbon door sills.
The car uses the same 3.5-litre supercharged V6 found in the Exige Race 380, producing 369bhp. This allows the lightweight sports car to reach 60mph in 3.4 seconds.
The new Lotus Exige Cup 380 is limited to just 60 cars.
