Mercedes E-Class the big winner at Irish Car of the Year Awards

The Irish Car of the Year Awards — in association with Continental Tyres — took place last week in Dublin and the new Mercedes E-Class was a worthy winner of the top prize.

Mercedes doubled up when its C-Class Coupé was crowned Irish Medium Car of the Year 2017.

Category winners included the Suzuki Baleno which won the Irish Small Car of the Year award; the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupé which won the Medium Car prize; the Mercedes-Benz E-Class which won the Irish Large Car gong; the Peugeot 2008 which secured the Small SUV of the Year award; the Hyundai Tucson which was voted Medium SUV of the Year; while the Ford Edge was voted Large SUV of the Year; and the Ford Mustang rounded things off by winning the Performance/Sports Car of the Year.

The category winners were all in the running for the top honour with the judging panel of close to 30 journalists electing E-Class by a landslide margin.
