Motors and Me: Jeremiah O'Sullivan

My current car is a 1987 Peugeot 205 Gti in white.
Love at first sight, the Peugeot 205 was one of my first cars. I bought it in 1988 from John Levis in Rosscarbery, Co Cork. Ever since, the 205 has been a big favourite of mine.
I have had the pleasure of owning four of them down through the years. They have been very loyal to me. It was great to hear that the 205 GTi has recently been voted the greatest ever hot hatch at the 2016 Performance Car Show.
It was up against 50 other cars before it was crowned the champ after a global poll. So I’m back driving a cool car again.

Under the hood is a 1.6 GTi petrol. It’s the original engine and has only 40,000 miles on the clock.

I’m purely a Sunday driver . I just like to drive around the countryside at my leisure.
My first car was a 1974 automatic VW Bettle. I bought it from Michael Collins at Reenascreena post office.

As well as the range of GTis over the years, I also have a Morris Minor Traveller 1972 which is also a pleasure to drive.
It would have to be a GTi. Doesn’t matter where, once I had an open road.

It would have to be the two most important women in my life, my wife Regina and my daughter Róisín.
Can’t think of anyone I would not take in my car, other than US presidential hopeful Donald Trump.
I like to listen to Bruce Springsteen and a little bit of Johnny Cash —the original Man in Black.
