Kadjar could catch-on

Renault’s dash into the crossover market — typified by the successful Captur — will have new impetus in September with the arrival of the C-segment crossover, the Kadjar, which will be priced from just €24,990.

Kadjar, which was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March, will be offered in a 15-version line-up based on four trim lines familiar to owners of other Renault vehicles — Expression+, Dynamique Nav, Dynamique S Nav and Signature Nav.

Standard safety features will include ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, electronic stability control with traction and understeer control, cruise control, speed limiter, Hill Start Assist, six airbags, seat belts with load limiters and pre-tensioners at the front, side impact protection bars and ISOFIX child-seat mounting points on the two outer rear seats.

There will be three engines on offer — the 1.2-litre turbocharged TCe 130hp four-cylinder direct-injection petrol unit; the 1.5-litre Energy dCi 110hp four-cylinder diesel available in manual and EDC; and, the 1.6-litre Energy dCi four-cylinder 130hp diesel. Irish order books open in July, with first vehicles expected in the showrooms in September.
