This they do by the simple expedient of preventing or blocking said Mr or Ms Flashypants from entering the main road. They will mutter under their breath, but the fact is they ignore normal motoring manners and courtesy — sometimes indeed going out of their way to carve someone up — simply because someone drives a more expensive car than themselves. It says much about us as a people.
Envy, I suppose is at the root of this, but there is also another motoring phenomenon. This involves driving a car which is such a bland and innocuous looker — while in fact being endowed with near supercar performance — that it universally fails to attract any attention at all, even from petrolheads.
