Three-pot engine for the 3 series

BMW has just announced details of the new 3 Series model line up which will go on sale in July with prices starting from €37,140 OTR for a 3 Series Saloon and €39,510 OTR for the Touring version.

BMW says the new 3 Series models have received a subtle evolution to their front and rear styling, with new materials and highlights introduced to the interior to boost the sporting yet comfortable ambience.

The big difference will be under the bonnet, where the majority of engines are completely new and hail from the latest modular BMW EfficientDynamics family. There will be a new three-cylinder 318i among the available choices, further underlining the fact that small capacity petrol engines are going to be a large part of our automotive future. Other interesting engine options will include the 326 bhp 340i, the 99g/km 320dED and the 335d with 630Nm of torque.
