The Czech company tells us that its Monte Carlo line of vehicles focuses on sporty interior and exterior styling elements without the requirement of high-powered or performance engines. So, what you get is a visually pumped-up motor with no added zip.
The Monte Carlo line first appeared in Ireland in 2011 on the previous generation Fabia and was followed up in 2014 with the introduction of the Citigo Monte Carlo.
The latest incarnation of the Monte Carlo was presented at the recent Geneva Motor show in the all new Fabia and for the first time in the Fabia Combi Estate. With its attractive appearance, rugged interior and comprehensive equipment, the new Monte Carlo is one of the most exciting vehicles in its class, but it won’t go anywhere particularly quickly.
Notable features of the Fabia Monte Carlo are: Black 16- or 17-inch alloy wheels, optional sports suspension, black exterior design elements, SunSet tinted rear window and rear side windows, as well as a tinted panoramic glass roof. The interior comes with a leather, three-spoke sports steering wheel, and unique sports seats.
?SKODA Ireland’s head of marketing & product Raymond Leddy said: “The Monte Carlo range has been very successful for us here in Ireland as customers increasingly look to individualise their vehicles, while maintaining value. The Fabia Monte Carlo provides economy and fuel efficiency while giving the sense of a performance car from a higher price bracket.”
The model will go on sale in July, with final prices and specifications to be announced closer to the time, though pricing is expected to be less than €19,000.
